Metatarsalgia is the term used to describe pain in the forefoot. The metatarsal bones bear the greatest part of the body’s weight when we are standing or walking, and the metatarsal heads can become tender and inflamed. Painful calluses can form over the metatarsal heads, caused by too much weight bearing pressure in this area.
